About MyoGR

My Story

Hi, I'm Kaysey, the myofunctional therapist at MyoGR. My dedication to airway health stems from my personal experience with a son facing sleep-disordered breathing. Discovering myofunctional therapy was a turning point, allowing me to assist not only my child but also other individuals.

I take great joy in guiding clients towards achieving therapy objectives to enhance airway health and overall well-being.

Away from work, you'll find me happiest at the beach. Balancing a busy schedule with my husband and two sons, we enjoy camping trips and swimming.

What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is used to improve breathing and oral function through exercises that target the muscles in the mouth, face, neck and head. Clients will be taught exercises to perform at home which strengthen muscles. We use neuromuscular re-education to correct dysfunctional muscle patterns.

It has great potential in various areas, such as assisting with orthodontic treatment, addressing tongue ties and TMD symptoms, and as part of a comprehensive approach to treating sleep disordered breathing including, but not limited to, Obstructive Sleep Apnea. OMT can also be used to eliminate non-nutritive sucking habits in children.

The main goal of myofunctional therapy is to increase airway health. We work toward nasal breathing, lip seal, tongue resting along the palate and correct swallowing pattern in order to achieve that goal. In achieving this, growing children will have full potential for forward facial growth which can help prevent future airway issues as they age.
